1858 -- AGS Archives

  The AGS moves to Clinton Hall (formerly the Astor Place Opera House).

  Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile, is discovered for the Europeans by English explorer John Speke on August 3, 1858.

  On July 28, 1858, in Jungipur, India, fingerprints were used for the first time as a means of identification.
