The work of the American Geographical Society is supported by subscription fees, income from its small endowment, the sale of books and maps, income from the AGS Travel Program, contributions, and members' dues.
Individuals may become Fellows of the American Geographical Society through the payment of 2012 annual dues of $US70.00. AGS Fellows receive the informative and lively AGS newsletter Ubique three times a year, and they may take advantage of discounts on the Geographical Review, Focus, and other AGS catalogue publications. They also have the privilege of attending Honors receptions and other AGS events.  Not-for-profit organizations and Libraries may join for 2012 annual dues of $US85.00, while other organizations may become Corporate Associates (annual dues of $US1,000.00). Corporate Associates receive Ubique, the Geographical Review, and Focus, and receive discounts on other AGS publications and activities. To become an AGS Fellow, download the Membership Page. To subscribe as an individual to the publications of the AGS, download the Geographical Review subscription form or the FOCUS on Geography subscription form.
Individuals and institutions may subscribe directly to the Geographical Review and Focus, and may purchase other AGS materials without being Fellows or Corporate Associates. Information will be mailed on request as rates vary for individuals and institutes, members and non-members.
A recently formed group, the Galileo Circle, comprises individuals who give to or obtain for the Society a contribution of at least $US1,000.00 per year. Galileo Circle members enjoy benefits such as priority access to the AGS Council, staff, and experts on economic, cultural, political, environmental, and geographical issues; complimentary subscriptions to AGS publications; invitations to special briefings and events; and listing on the Society letterhead. Contributions to the American Geographical Society are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
